In Germany Systembau created an interactive floor that the markings change instantly, with a push of a button. Called Lucio, it comprises of two layers. A surface made of easily removable special glass that has undergone a series of processes and treatments to ensure that it is as springy as the current wooden floors and also layered with a colored PVB foil, coated with an extra-strong anti-skid laminate. It costs $560 USD per square meter. The floor has been fixed by reseachers from Germany's Stuttgart University and meets only yhe sliding characteristics for gyms.

The Text Message Minnesota Researchers Are Not Looking Forward To Receiving!
BY: Meera Dolasia
The moose population is declining, and no one knows why. Now researchers from Minnesota are going to find out why. The researchers have devised an innovative solution. One that will allow the moose to send them a text but only after their dead.
“The impetus to do something began last year when a census count of the animals indicated that there were only 4,600 or about half the number as had been counted in 2006, left in the wild.”
But the time the researchers discovered the carcasses they were decayed or had been eaten by other animals.
In order to get around the scientists have decided to make a use out of modern technology. A month later 100 adults and 50 calves living in the forest in Minnesota will be captured, and fittied with tracking collars and also be implanted with mortality transmitters.

Hi-Tech Floor Transforms Multi-Sport Gyms Into Multi, Multi Sport Gyms!
By Meera Dolasia

If your school is like most, chances are you have one gym that is used for maybe one or two sports - Most likely Volleyball and Basketball. Germany's ASB Systembau has created an interactive floor that allow for the markings to be changed instantly, with a mere push of a button. Called Lucio, it comprises of two layers. A surface made of easily removable special glass that has undergone a series of processes and treatments to ensure that it is as springy as the current wooden floors and also layered with a colored PVB foil, coated with an extra-strong anti-skid laminate. Underneath, lies an equally cushioned framework made from metal channels that are embedded with blue and white LED's, which are arranged such that they create the specific boundary that is needed for the sport being played, at any given time. All the coach or the player has to do, is press the button with the right symbol! Priced at about $560 USD per square meter, Germany's Stuttgart University and meets not only the sliding characteristics required for gyms but both national and international requirements for slip resistance, shock absorption etc. etc ASB Systembau believes that the floor will be useful for many other venues, ranging from displaying rotating floor advertisements to even, nightclubs. We are sure all you wish is that someone would install the Lucio in your school gym!

I choose to do my article on "The Text Message Minnesota Researchers Are Not Looking Forward To Receiving! By Meera Dolasia
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources hope they don't get many text messages from the moose that they have fitted with tracking collars and implanted with mortality transmitters in their digestive tracks. Cause if they do receive a message that moose is already dead. It's heart has spotted beating for six hours before the message is sent.
The researchers did this because since 2006 the moose population is half of what the count was than. This will allow the researchers to better diagnose the cause of death. Of course it will not help the animals that have already died, but they hope to help the rest of the species, other animals and maybe humans also. Another study that was done alerted them to the existence of a mosquito encephalitis. That would have posed a threat to both horses and people.
Hopefully they will find out what is causing the decrease in the moose population before many more moose die. The moose is a awsome animal. It would be sad if they all died off.

The article I chose is called, ‘Hi- Tech Floor Transform Multi- Sport Gyms Into Multi, Multi Sport Gyms!’ By: Meera Dolasia. This article is about how this gym is high tech of course. You know that only in a gym you can only play basketball and volleyball? Well this one changes!
This floor changes into other floors for like baseball or tennis or even football. The lines changes in a push of a button. So you can play any sport in this gym. This gym is in Germany.
This floor is called Lucio, I has two layers. One that is made of easily removable different glass that has endured a series of processes and treatments to guarantee that it is as springy as the present wooden floors and also covered with a colored PVB foil. “The other layer lies an equally cushioned famework made from metal channels that are embedded with blue and white LED’s which are arranged such that they create the specific boundary that is needed for the sport being played, at any given time.
Why I would need to know this is because, if I would happen to come upon a gym floor like this then I could be able to tell others about it. I chose this article because it seemed like an interesting article.

3d printers are headed for the moon. No really.

To say that 3D printing technology has grown by leaps and bounds is an understatement. It has been used to build construction models, artificial limbs and even a faux car for the most recent James Bond thriller, Skyfall. Now, if the scientists at the ESA and designers at British architectural firm Foster and Partners are right, it may soon be heading to the Moon! The fact that the planet Mars is the next frontier astronauts are planning to explore, is a known fact. Engineers have been working hard on building a suitable Space Vehicle, nutritionists have been trying to come up with the appropriate cuisine and some brave men have even gone through the ordeal of spending the 520 days it will take to get to the Red Planet and back, sequestered inside a mock shuttle. There is one unsolved problem.
Here’s the problem. Where the astronauts will live when they get to the Moon, which is where they are expected to set up base camp. Then, there is the issue of labor - Given that humans cannot not survive in the extreme Lunar temperatures without adequate protection, means that laborers could not be sent to build this dome. The only solution therefore would be to send robots.
However, there still remained the question of how the raw lunar soil could be transformed into building material that is strong and solid enough to provide a safe abode for the space scientists. This, is where 3D printing comes in! The architects began by mixing simulated lunar soil with magnesium oxide - This effectively transformed it into a pulp-like material, which could be passed through the printer to create 3-D building material sheets. Since each individual layer is not strong enough, the architects printed multiple layers and then bound them with a special salt, that turned the flimsy layers into a stone like solid material. The architects who have built a small model on earth, believe that if everything goes according to their plan, using this technique, a structure big enough to house four astronauts could be built in just a week.
Thanks to this innovative idea, the house will be totally sustainable and the only things that will be required to be shipped to the moon will be the robots, some pressurized inflatables the same shape as the dome and of course the printer(s)! Watch out Martians, here we come!

I read Hi-Tech Floor Transforms Multi-Sports Gyms Into Multi, Multi Sports Gyms. It is written by Meera Dolasia. The main idea was about a floor that transforms into many courts.
The first paragraph is about some of the things the floor is made out of. For example, one thing it is made is LED lights.
The second is how it works. It works by hitting a button. Hit one button and you get the court you want to play on.
I picked this paragraph because it looked like a fun paragraph to read. It gave me an idea, and how to follow your dreams and design something that could benefit you.

I chose the article on the largest prime number discovered. This article is by Meera Dolsia. The number was discovered by Curtis Cooper.
This new number is 17.425,170 digits long. According to the article if there was someone to right this number one digit per second 12 hours nonstop a day, it would still take over a year to wright. To print out it would take 5,000-6,000 sheets of paper depending on font and size. The last record was 12,978,189 digits long. That's pretty short compared to the record breaker.
So, been wondering why this Chris guy would do this crazy thing? Basicaly for fame and bragging rights, but there is a 3,000 dollar reward. This was not easy either, it took 1,000 special computers to calculate. It took 39 days for the 22th computer to actually come up with the number. The number was a rare number called a Mersenne. A Mersenne is a number that is one less than the power of two.
I chose this article because I like math. I want to know how he knew it was a prime number. This could help in the future if I become a mathematic.

The Text Message Minnesota Researchers Are Not Looking Forward To Receiving
The moose population in Minnesota is declining sharply - And nobody knows why! Now researchers from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have devised an innovative solution - One that will allow the moose to send them a text message but unfortunately, only after they are dead

Starting later this month, 100 adults and 50 calves living in the forests of Northeastern Minnesota will be captured and fitted with tracking collars and also, be implanted with mortality transmitters in their digestive tracks.

The animals will then be allowed to roam free until, scientists receive this dire text message from one of them Hey I'm likely dead.' Timed to be sent six hours after the animal's heart stops beating, the message will enable them to immediately pick up the body thanks to the coordinates provided by its tracking collars

While this will not do anything for the animals that have perished, researchers are hoping that it will help the rest of their species, as well as, other animals and even, humans. A similar prior study of moose carcasses alerted them to the existence of a strain of mosquito-borne encephalitis that would have also posed a threat to both horses and people. We sure hope the researchers are able to figure out the issue before they get a barrage of text messages

My article review is on Are Micro Apartments The Future Of City Living? This article was written by Meera Dolasia. Many big cities are having housing problems. The cities want to make smaller housing with half the price of a similar apartment.
Mayor Bloomberg announced that designs will be taken for micro apartments that consist of 250-300 square feet. Who ever won this challenge would win a chance to be the first to construct a micro unit apartment complex in Manhattan's Kips Bay neighborhood. The winner was “My Micro NY”.
The design of the “My Micro NY” was based on a cruise ship cabin. This micro apartment has a balcony that doesn’t protrude but does let in fresh air. Another space saving trick is the storage place in the ceiling. This can be accessed with a step ladder. Of course the apartment has a kitchen, bathroom, and a living space that can be used as a sleeping area, study area, a living room, or all three.
I chose this article because I want these types of housing to come to local areas. This would cut back on space use. I also think it would be cool to live in an apartment like this! The information I learned from this article could come in handy if I were to live in one of these apartments.

Hi-Tech Floor Transforms Multi-Sport Gyms Into Multi, Multi Sport Gyms!
By: Meera Dolasia

Many schools have different sports played in their gym each week. Many of which the floor was not exactly designed for. In Germany however, this is not the case.

Lucio, a gym floor designed in Germany, has many functions. Some of which are tennis, basketball, and volleyball. With the press of a button, its function is altered.

I like the idea of a multi-sport gym. This is because most sports used on gym floors can harm the surface, because it was not designed to withstand other sports. In this way, Lucio will save lots of money.

I chose this article because I thought the idea of a multi-sport gym was a great idea. Even though most gyms are multi-sport gyms, they are not as efficient as Lucio.

Many school gyms

All right. Been a while, but I have here a new article. It’s by Meera Dolisia, and is totally hip. Its about… wait. You’re not going to believe this…. It’s about airbags on the exterior of cars!? HOW CAN THAT BE??? Anyway, I chose this article because it’s fun and awesome.
Now for the first idea. The first idea is to WOW us. This is because well, outside airbags on cars? That is un-freaking-believable. The second idea Is to inform us. This is because they are telling us about a hip new airbag that goes on the outside of cars.
Now for the last idea. You ready for this? The last idea is…. DUD! Nah. Here’s the real last idea. The idea is to blow our minds. This is because we went from T-mobiles to geos to race cars and now race cars with airbags on the outside of them. I know. Its totally awesome.
Now this is the ending paragraph. IM sad, and I know ur sad, but oh well. Stay tuned for more articles reviews from Austin Faust.

Why Dung Beetles are always reaching For the Stars By:
Meera Dolasia.

Dung beetles have always been known to take other animals dropping ad roll it into a ball. The question is how do they know where they are going. Thanks to some Sweden researchers we may now know the answer.
Last year the research on these rollers began when Emily Baird at Sweden Lund University and her colleagues all researched the dung beetles. Every time a beetle got a ball of crap(literally) it got on top and danced. When Mrs. Baird got a closer look she saw the beetles were actually looking to the sky for its blessing.

Cycling or even walking in urban areas.
And, while there are several versions of the idea in the works, the one most recently unveiled by Dutch car company TNO, seems tA camera fitted beneath the rear-view mirror monitors the vehicle's proximity to a pedestrian or cyclist. This article is about how there’s new cars with air bags on the outside of the cars. The new car out is to help people that ride on bikes ,and walk to most places. This mainly happens in big cities and some smaller ones. The coolest thing about this car is that people have been studying things about this car since 2009 that’s a long time. They’ve used crash dolls to test it out. You can still get hurt but not as bad. This air bag can even protect your windshield from hitting the person your safer and so is the other person that was hit.

THANKS FOR READING !!!!!!!!!
